Deer feeder and Cam report for last week

I was disappointed to see how few deer (in fact, none) went into the old clearing where I had first placed my tree stand. I had a one series of shots, of which one might have been a tail. I'm thinking that the deer might have not like stepping over the little sink hole fissure which cuts across the trail leading into the clearing.

This week, I built and installed my new deer feeder. It's basically just a 4" pipe with a notch cut it in and placed a couple inches above the ground so a mound builds up underneath it. As the deer eat, a little more spills out. I'll have to keep an eye on it to see how well it meters out the food.

Here's my work crew getting ready to go down and install the feeder.

It was pretty cold that day.

The white stuff on the ground is the mineral lick that we spread around to get the deer to get used to coming into this clearing. I've also placed the trail cam on this site, so we should have some good pics for next week!
